Learn the basics of kayaking in the safety of West Lakes with #ShePaddles

Take part in #ShePaddles….

#ShePaddles is a Paddle SA initiative to provide female-focused social paddling events, led by experienced and fully qualified female guides.

Join us for a beginner-friendly kayak on West Lakes with the option of break for coffee at OAR kitchen and bar (at own cost). 

You’ll get all the gear and some of an idea through a mini-lesson to get you kayaking, but you’re welcome to bring your own kayak too!

Make use of the brand new Paddle SA headquarters change rooms and showers after your paddle if you wish.

Inclusions

9:15am Meet and greet at Aquatic Reserve, Bower Road. Sign waiver, fit life jackets.

9:30am Official briefing, welcome and mini paddle lesson on-land

9:45am Hit the water! Paddle 3kms to OAR.

10:30am Arrive at OAR. Land our kayaks on the beach, enjoy a rest and bathroom stop. Sit and chat with coffee and cake!

11:05am Begin the return paddle back to Aquatic Reserve, usually with the prevailing wind blowing us back!

11:45am help carry the kayaks back to the shed and help hose them down and pack them away.

12:00pm debrief and thanks!
