Kindred | Women’s Guided Day Hiking Program
Kindred is a series of guided day-hike retreats on the Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia. Kindred is for women who want to deepen their confidence, strengthen their connection to nature, and build real capability outdoors without the intimidation, ego, or competitiveness that often surrounds adventure spaces.
This is steady, soulful bushwalking paired with practical outdoor skills and personal development themes designed to help you expand, inside and out. Led by qualified female guides, each walk is structured to help you feel safe, seen, and supported while learning the skills that make nature feel natural - packing, planning, navigation, risk management, and trail confidence.
The transformation:
Through Kindred, you’ll build:
Outdoor confidence rooted in practical skills, not just guesswork
Meaningful connection with other capable women
Increased self-trust and resilience
Clarity, presence, and mental spaciousness
Embodied confidence that carries into every area of life
A sense of belonging with nature, community, and yourself
Kindred is where competence meets connection and confidence becomes a lived experience.
The experience
Each Kindred Day Hike includes:
Guided hikes on thoughtfully chosen South Australian trails on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Skill-building, including trail-systems, navigation, and emergency management.
Personal development themes woven into each walk, including connecting with Country, resilience, growth-mindset, self-trust and staying calm under pressure.
Supportive all-women community with shared intention and shared experience
Nervous system-aware guidance that helps you feel calm, capable, and clear
Time and space to reflect, breathe, and reconnect with yourself.
You’ll leave each hike feeling stronger, more capable, and more connected than when you arrived.

Who It’s For

Q. Do I need hiking experience to join Kindred?
A: No prior hiking experience is required. Kindred is designed for women who are comfortable walking for several hours and want to build confidence, skills, and ease on the trail.

A: Yes. Kindred is a women-only guided hiking program, created to offer a safe, supportive environment where women can learn, walk, and connect together.
Q: What if I feel nervous or unsure about my ability?
A: Feeling nervous is completely normal. Kindred is designed for women who want to build confidence, not prove anything. Guides support the group at a steady pace, offer options where possible, and prioritise safety, care, and encouragement.

A: Yes, particularly for women who are new to hiking or have done some walking but want to feel more confident, capable, and informed outdoors. The program is intentionally supportive and non-competitive.

Cultural Educator & Ngarrindjeri Woman
Taylah Lochert
My name is Taylah, and I am a proud Ngarrindjeri and Kaurna woman. I grew up in the Riverland in South Australia, with my fondest childhood memories of being barefoot on Country, wandering through the mallee scrub and swimming in the Murray River. After moving to Kaurna country to study and build my career, I often found myself caught in cycles of burnout, feeling unbalance and disconnected. Those experiences reminded me of the importance of slowing down and returning to the grounding wisdom of my ancestors, who lived in harmony with nature for millennia. My passion lies in guiding people to heal and find their sense of connection to Country, which greatly nurtures overall wellbeing.
