Kindred | Women’s Guided Hiking Program
Kindred is a guided hiking program for women who want to deepen their confidence, strengthen their connection to nature, and build real capability outdoors - without the intimidation, ego, or competitiveness that often surrounds adventure spaces.
This is steady, soulful bushwalking paired with practical outdoor skills and personal development themes designed to help you expand, inside and out. Led by qualified female guides, each walk is structured to help you feel safe, seen, and supported while learning the skills that make nature feel natural - packing, planning, navigation, risk management, and trail confidence.
Over the course of the program (which runs over 5 Sundays within each school term), you’ll have opportunities to connect with your kindred community online over 2 x group calls, as well as in-person over 3 x day hikes with progressive skills that each build upon the last. Can’t commit to the full-term transformation? Single Day Hike Passes are available too.
The transformation:
Through Kindred, you’ll build:
Outdoor confidence rooted in skill, not guesswork
meaningful connection with other capable women
increased self-trust and resilience
clarity, presence, and mental spaciousness
the kind of embodied confidence that carries into every area of life
a sense of belonging with nature, community, and yourself
Kindred is where competence meets connection and confidence becomes a lived experience.
The experience
Each Kindred walk includes:
Guided hikes on thoughtfully chosen South Australian trails on the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Skill-building, including navigation, trail safety, trip planning and pack essentials
Personal development themes woven into each walk
Supportive all-women community with shared intention and shared experience
Nervous system-aware guidance that helps you feel calm, capable, and clear
Time and space to reflect, breathe, and reconnect with your inner landscape
You’ll leave each hike feeling stronger, more capable, and more connected than when you arrived.

Destination: From Kondoli Whale Lookout to the Waitpinga Cliffs via the Heyson and return.
Distance: 6.6kms Return, with 187m elevation.
Duration: 6hours (9am - 3pm)
This guided walk is the first in the Kindred series, and follows the Heysen Trail from Kondoli Whale Lookout to the Waitpinga Cliffs, returning via the same route. The walk begins with a Ngarrindjeri Welcome to Country by Taylah Lochert, giving everyone the opportunity to ground onto "Ruwi".
The walk is 6.6km return with around 187 metres of elevation gain, allowing time to move steadily, pause, and take in the landscape along the way.
The trail begins on a narrow section of the Heysen Trail, gently climbing past open farming land before entering eucalypt forest. From here, the path opens out along the edge of the Waitpinga Cliffs, with wide views across the Southern Ocean. This walk is rated Moderate and is suited to women with a basic level of fitness who feel comfortable spending several hours walking outdoors.
The day runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm, offering a relaxed, supported pace that allows space for learning, rest, and connection to place.
This walk introduces the first learning focus of the program, centred on building a strong foundation for bushwalking and day hiking.

Destination: Trig Camp Ground to Tapanappa via Deep Creek Cove and return via waterfall.
Distance: 10.6kms with 507m elevation.
Duration: 6hours (9am - 3pm)
This guided walk begins at Trig Campground and follows a loop through Deep Creek Cove to Tapanappa Lookout, returning via Deep Creek Waterfall. The walk covers 10.6km with approximately 507 metres of elevation gain, making it a full and rewarding day on the trail.
The route follows sections of the Heysen Trail, beginning with a gradual descent along single-track trail to the rocky and sandy shoreline of Deep Creek Cove. After crossing the inlet, the walk climbs steeply through a short scramble before continuing on a steady uphill fire track to the exposed Tapanappa Lookout, where we’ll pause for lunch. Toilets and rainwater are available at the lookout.
From Tapanappa, the trail moves back into the trees, descending through switchbacks to Deep Creek Waterfall. Time is set aside here for journaling and reflection, before the final climb through grass trees back to Trig Campground.
This walk is rated Hard and is suited to women with a good level of fitness who are comfortable with steep climbs, uneven terrain, and a longer day of hiking. The walk runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm, allowing time to move steadily, rest when needed, and engage with the landscape.

After meeting in McLaren Vale, the group is transported to the starting point at Maslin Beach. From here, the walk begins by heading north along the beach before transitioning inland through a mix of coastal trails and scrub. The final section follows bike paths through vineyards, arriving back into McLaren Vale.
This walk is rated Moderate–Hard and is suited to women with a reasonable level of fitness who are comfortable walking for several hours across changing terrain. The walk runs from 9:00am to 3:00pm, allowing time to move steadily, pause, and take in the shift from coast to countryside.

Cultural Educator & Ngarrindjeri Woman
Taylah Lochert
My name is Taylah, and I am a proud Ngarrindjeri and Kaurna woman. I grew up in the Riverland in South Australia, with my fondest childhood memories of being barefoot on Country, wandering through the mallee scrub and swimming in the Murray River. After moving to Kaurna country to study and build my career, I often found myself caught in cycles of burnout, feeling unbalance and disconnected. Those experiences reminded me of the importance of slowing down and returning to the grounding wisdom of my ancestors, who lived in harmony with nature for millennia. My passion lies in guiding people to heal and find their sense of connection to Country, which greatly nurtures overall wellbeing.
