Great walks through the sand dunes.. a coastal walk exploring and tasting indigenous plants. Delicious picnic food provided. Quiet time to reflect and journal. What wasn't to love."

What to pack

Frequently asked questions:

Q: How do I get there?

A: The starting location is Lot 99 Mundoo Channel Drive on Hindmarsh Island, which is a 1.5hour drive South of Adelaide. As we will be busy preparing your kayak and meals for the trip on the morning of the tour, you will need to drive yourself or carpool with a friend. There is a safe area to leave your car parked overnight.

Q: I already know how to kayak. Will this trip still be good for me?

A: Absolutely! We often have women come along who already know how to kayak, but they’re looking to explore the Coorong or to enjoy a camping trip with other women. You’ll still get a lot out of the experience even if you already know how to kayak.

Q: Are there toilets available at the campsite?

A: Yes. We will be camping at Godfrey’s Landing in the Coorong National Park, which has two long drop toilets and a sheltered undercover area. There is toilet paper and a sink available at the loo block, but we will also pack a spare toilet kit and hand sanitiser for our paddling breaks.

Q: I will have my period while on the camp. How can I manage my waste?

A: We have a policy that what we pack in, we pack out, but fortunately we will also have access to bins (provided by Canoe The Coorong) which we can leave waste in when we leave camp. Spare period products will be made available, as well as ample sanitiser, toilet paper etc.

Q: Can My dietary needs be catered for?

A: We regularly cater for vegetarian, vegan, gluten free and lactose free customers, and the feedback on the options available to them has been great. If you have any specific dietary concerns or allergies that you are worried about us catering for, don’t hesitate to get in touch.

Q: Is there phone reception & wifi there?

A: There is no wifi, but there is fairly good phone reception for all of our paddle, however, we recommend telling your friends and family that you will be out of contact for most of the weekend as it is also a great time to step away from your phone!
